Frequently asked questions
What access do I need to provide?
We’ll need access to the entire property, including the loft, gas and electric meters, and boiler. Please ensure these areas are clear and accessible on the day of the assessment.
What certificates should I provide?
If available, please provide documentation such as:
-
FENSA certificates for window replacements
-
Building control sign-off for extensions or conversions
-
Installation certificates for insulation or heating upgrades
These can improve your rating and must be verified during the assessment.
How long does the assessment take?
A typical EPC visit takes around 30–60 minutes, depending on the size and layout of the property.
When will I receive the EPC?
You’ll receive your EPC report by 10AM the next working day in PDF format. It will also be published on the official gov.uk EPC register.
How long is an EPC valid for?
An EPC is valid for 10 years from the date of issue. However, if you’ve made improvements to your property (like insulation or a new boiler), it may be worth renewing to reflect the upgrades and boost your rating.
